Travelling in North Sulawesi :Figura Festival

Figura is a public entertainment in North Sulawesi which is performed colossally in order to celebrate the “Kuncikan” or closing of all activities throughout the month of December every year. The participants generally come from groups of people who represent their sub-districts, institutions, or organizations in a city or regency. They usually dress up in various unique and entertaining costumes, from a clown to a minister’s costume derived from the theme they’re performing.

More from me : This festival is really funny and entertaining. You can not pass it if you are in Manado around January – February. Trust me, you will have so many great pictures to be shown to your family when you come back to your country. So, don’t forget to bring (or at least, borrow…) a camera.
